The following WAIVER must be agreed to as part of Race Registration:
I recognize that running a road race is a potentially hazardous activity. I have read the race flyer and am familiar with the course, procedures, and rules. I should not enter and run unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race officials relative to my ability to safely complete the run. I assume all risks associated with running in this event including, but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including cold, snow and/or ice, high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the organizers of the George Washington Birthday Classic 10K, its directors, officers, staff, and volunteers, Pacers Running Stores, Pacers Events LLC, and Pacers Running Club and their respective volunteers, employees and/or contractors, Road Runners Club of America, the City of Alexandria, Virginia and its employees, and all sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. Further, I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use any photographs, motion pictures, recordings or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose without notice or compensation and to release my race results including my full name, age, city and state, and race times to any entity the race organizer sees fit. I understand that headsets of any kind, in-line skates, or bicycles are prohibited. I hereby grant to the medical director(s) of the race, and his/her agents, affiliates and designees, access to all medical records (and physicians) as needed and authorize medical treatment as needed. I acknowledge that the entry fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. In the event the race is delayed or prevented by reason of fire, threatened or actual strike, labor difficulty, work stoppage, insurrection war, public disaster, flood, unavoidable casualty, acts of God or the elements (including without limitation, hurricanes, tornadoes, or earthquakes), or any other cause beyond the control of the race organizers there shall be no refund of the entry fee or any other costs of the athlete in connection with this event. The City of Alexandria complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act for qualified individuals. If reasonable accommodation is needed, please contact the Race Director ten days prior to an event.
