One of the most lively and appreciated features of the annual George Washington Symposium is the appearance of the George Washington Players. Their interpretations of the topics introduced and discussed by our able speakers truly provide an extension of our yearly explorations in Alexandria and George Washington history. The Players are volunteers who donate many hours of rehearsal, research, and costume assembly, which add immeasurably to the event. Many of them are members of the Living History Foundation, a volunteer organization which supports history sites and events, primarily in the Washington area.

This Symposium would not have been possible without the extensive and willing support of the staff of the George Washington Masonic National Memorial and Executive Secretary-Treasurer, George D. Seghers. We are grateful for their enthusiastic and helpful cooperation, and especially for their generous funding of student scholarships for the Symposium..
The Committee wishes to express its appreciation to the Alexandria Rotary Club for its donation of scholarship funds to the Symposium.
The sandwich lunch is prepared by Jill Russell and the members of the Martha Washington Chapter of the Eastern Star. Their cooperation enables us to keep the cost of the Symposium reasonable.
